SARDNA DAYA Floral Designer

Wild Flower was born out of a love of flowers I have always shared with my sister Tarla. Our passion was to create arrangements that stimulate the senses, compliment the occasion, and deliver a ‘wow’ factor. We trained together at the Jane Packer School of Flowers in London and opened Wild Flower Florist in Wellington in 1992.

Mixing textured foliage to compliment flowers with fruit, shells and nuts, our work received rave reviews and soon began to set new trends in the floral industry. This lead to exciting commissions which included the opening of Te Papa and flowers for the cast and set of The Lord of The Rings Trilogy. We also had the honour of creating flower topiaries for the Royal Visit Garden Party at Government House.

Two of my favourite installations were the flower chandelier I created for the Chris Cairns Charity Auction at the Sky City Ballroom in Auckland, and a wedding tree covered in hanging tealights at Bracu.
